There are some "top tier" fraternities that probably wouldn't extend a bid to an OOS student, it's not fair but that's just the way it is. However, you should have no problem getting into a "decent" fraternity due to being from out of state. There are lots of really good fraternities with brothers from all over the country.

All the "top tier" fraternities have kids from all over the place.

Kid, if you are a normal, fun guy who is good socially you will probably have no problem getting a bid.

There are some fraternities where it would be more difficult, but if they don't want you because of where you're from you don't want to be there. Most good fraternities don't give a damn where you're from if you're cool.

Will I have to do formal rush? And if so will that hurt my chances?
