The truth about frats

I graduated so I can say what I want now. Most frats have just as much drama and cliqueyness as sororities. Plenty of houses have beef with each other and a lot of guys don’t want to talk to guys that aren’t in their frat. It’s easy to find one nights but pretty hard to find an actual gf since everyone will assume you sleep around. I’ve seen a few guys get in literal fist fights with their brothers although it’s not common. Some of your brothers are going to think they can be all touchy with you and it can get uncomfortable. A lot of people who aren’t in greek life will automatically assume your a douchebag if they know you’re in a frat so good luck with that. If that one brother you don’t like does something he should be canceled for your expected to help cover it up and never mention it again when you wish they would just get kicked out. Depending on which house you’re in you’re going to love or hate it because let’s be honest some frats have bad or really dirty houses. If you’re in a bottom or low middle frat the ratio at parties is going to suck. Most frats have pretty light hazing but a rare few seem to want their brothers to have ptsd. If your in a frat you have to really watch yourself now because the university is cracking down on a lot of things. They have no problem putting chapters on probation or kicking them off campus. While this may be discouraging Greek life is still worth it. I met my lifelong brothers and made some awesome memories. If you’re a chill dude you’ll have a much better time than the stuck up guys that think it’s high school 2.0 and people will like you a lot more. As long as you and your brothers stay out of any real trouble these will be some of the best 4 years of your life.
