Am I the only one?

by: .:.

I only got 3 sororities back and it seems like everyone else in my group got a full set of parties for this round. My pi chi says not to worry but I’m freaking out.

It’s okay I did too. I’m thinking about dropping.

Same! But I’m going to stick with it as I’m from out of state and feel like it will help me meet people

I know it’s hard to stay positive but don’t drop. Give the sororities that invited you back another look. They saw something in you and asked you back for a reason. Every single sorority at Auburn has really great girls and opinions change from party to party so it’s important to go to all you’re invited to before you make your decision. Best of luck!

Yes but it’s also hard when you thought that sorority was going to be your “home”. Out of all of the conversations I had with the other houses, the one I had the best conversation with was the one I got dropped from. I didn’t have that “this is my place” type of feeling with any of the others. And if I end up sticking it out I’m always going to be reminded how that other sorority dropped me. I thought I had a great conversation with them and they liked me but I guess not.

It doesn't mean they didn't like you. Rush is a numbers game. Opinions really do change from party to party and it comes down to whether or not you want to find a home with another sorority and be part of Greek life or not. Not is okay too. BUT I would give the ones you do have left a fair chance.

Stick it out! All you need in the end is one. Also, don't necessarily believe girls who said they have a bunch of parties. People aren't always honest about that.
Focus on the ones you do have that want you and make the best of it!

I was in the position of one sorority giving me a bid for preference night and it was disappointing but I went through with it. I received a bid on bid day and wouldn’t want it to have been any other way. It was a great time with terrific girls. You never know how it will work.

It's hard not to take it personally. I would say you do not have to take a bid from someone you don't want. That's a fallacy. You can always get a COB or rush again next year. There are tons of girls not in a sorority as a freshmen. The "top sororities" keep this site full of their comments to keep everyone coming back to them - keep an open mind and don't buy into the ranking. Lots of upward movement - but DO NOT commit to a place you really cannot see yourself because then you are stuck!

STICK WITH IT!!! This week is tough but remember only one matters!! It’s a lot better to have less in my opinion because then you don’t get attached to the wrong fit and then get dropped the next party. Trust the process and keep on pushing!

If it makes you feel any better, when I went through 2 years ago my favorite (one of the “top”) dropped me going into pref. I stuck it out and ended up joining the one I’m in now (which is considered “lower” and wasn’t even on my radar) and I truly think it’s the best fit for me. I have thought several times about what it would be like if I was in that one and I don’t think I’d fit it. I love the girls around me and the opportunity I’ve gotten here. It’ll all work out for the best, so try to give your remaining ones a shot! You’re probably a great girl and someone sees that!!

Don’t drop! Quota is going to be around 100 girls! You will DEFINITELY find some of your people in that group!

Listen girl I was in your shoes a few years ago and now I’m a senior about to graduate and can’t imagine not having my sisters. Stay with it! You won’t regret it!
