Please explain these sororities pls
by: :)Hi! I’m rushing next year and have been lurking. I know this kind of poisons things but since I’m already here, I want to be fair. I already know I’m probably not too tier material so I was hoping someone could explain why the bottom tier sororities are bottom tier. Is it because they are all weird? Are they mean or have terrible sisterhood? Are they all of the leftovers? Is it different for each bottom tier sorority? I think it’s a real possibility that I might only get a bid from a bottom tier, so I’m trying to separate who is bottom bc they are mean and/or the weird horse girls, and who is bottom because they are new and/or unattractive. Please dont take this the wrong way, I’m okay with being “bottom” if that means I won’t feel ostracized on campus.

here is something to think about....
all 1800 girls rushing at auburn will have a 3.5 or higher gpa from high school - though 80 percent have 3.8-4.0
all 1800 girls will have a long list of community activities from volunteer work to church groups etc.
all 1800 girls will have a long list of social activities from dance and cheer to beauty and theatre etc
a large percentage of the 1800 girls will have partial if not full scholarships
every single girl rushing is amazing!!!
there will always be a tier system its just facts...but every sorority has a giant mixture of the above girls. the "best" and the "worst" still have the same mixture of amazing girls. be yourself and you will find your place

The tiers on here really don’t matter. All of the sororities at auburn are great I would just steer clear of the bottom one if I’m being honest. No ones gonna look at you different if you’re upper bottom or better, and the lower tier sororities don’t really have bad reputations they just have to be ranked. Not being biased because I am a blonde, but like 75% of what they rank off of is blondeness anyways.

Some of the sororities that are not on many girls radars don't have the polish, nor do they have the great conversationalists that the more desirable chapters have. Those girls could carry on a conversation with a brick wall, so they can get an extremely shy girl to relax and talk with them. And because of this, and the reputations they have of being "top tier" everyone wants them. Just find your people. Find the group where you feel the most at ease.

Ranks are determined by which feeder high schools their members are typically from. If you are from the right zip code and went to the right school and knew the right people there it will determine where you land 95% of the time. Which means the girls in bottom tier and some mid tier houses are just as fantastic on paper as the top tier girls, just from different places. You’ll likely be happier in “bottom tier” if you already feel out of place just looking at top tier stuff. And NO that’s not a bad thing! It’s the same girls just different hometowns and schools. A pretty judgmental and arbitrary system so DON’T define yourself by it.
