Anyone else thinking about dropping?

by: .

Just got my schedule back and am down to just Tri Sig. My pi chi advised me to go to the party with an open mind and see what happens. I am curious if anyone else is in my situation and is going to stick it out an join or drop. I do not want to show up on bid day and Tri Sig and have it be all weird girls, so i'm hoping there are other normal girls in my situation.

I feel like there are probably some girls in tri sig that it wasn’t there first choice and then they ended up meeting their friend groups and liking it bc they have party girls and chill girls. they are like every other sorority minus the fact that they are new and need time to grow so they can be picky.

there are a lot of GREAT girls in Tri Sig!! Keep an open mind and don't listen to the mean girls. Until you give them a try, you can't make a generalized assumption that they "aren't for you". They are continuing to grow and get better every year. At least go to the sisterhood party and KEEP AN OPEN MIND! Best of luck to you.

How is a pnm mean if they said a house wasn’t for them? Maybe it wasn’t! She already talked to them during philanthropy round, and I’m sure you had your favorites and didn’t click with some sororities yourself and vise versa going into rush. Sometimes you just know. She even called them a “good group of girls.” Doesn’t sound like she was bashing the sorority at all to me. All she was saying was that it wasn’t for her and that’s completely fine.

Thank you to everyone who posted on this thread! These comments are making my day way better about going into sisterhood round with just them left!

There a plenty of normal girls in Tri Sig and their last pledge class was great. They can't grow and get better if no one gives them a chance and just judges them based off what mean girls have said.

I would go to all the parties you have left for this round then make a decision on whether or not you want to stay in rush!

Just go, who knows, you may get that butterfly in the stomach feeling. It is the things in life that you DO NOT do that you regret the most.

Sororities are for life. They all have great alumni chapters all over the USA that will help you find jobs. Once college is over you'll realize being "top tier" doesn't matter. Trust me. Just keep an open mind. You'll find friends in every sorority.

My best friend got dropped from her legacy house and her other favorite between sisterhood and pref. She went to the one house she had left for pref and walked out bawling because she was so disappointed and mad. She withdrew. A week later the same chapter she rejected at pref invited her to a COB event and she met totally different girls than she did during rush and a ton of the new PC and had a great time. She joined and is on exec and heavily involved now, but still hates she missed bid day and the first week of new sorority activities and bonding. It is RARE a group invite you back like that. And if they cut you during rush they won’t ask you back for COB. Dropping before giving everyone a chance isn’t the way to do it and NOT EVERYBODY FALLS IN LOVE OVERNIGHT. You get what you give so suck it up and TRY.

This is exactly what happened to me, I was too caught up in the houses that dropped me that I didn’t see the good in the house that wanted me, missed the fun bid day
