biggest party fraternities
by: letsgetitI am planning on rushing and would like to know the biggest party fraternities, don't care about "rankings" I just want to know what fraternities tend to have a reputation for having a lot of fun, thanks

Yes but Beta is a very social fraternity when not on sopro. And since when did Lambda Chi get back on probation?

Good list but take out Sig Pi I don't think I've ever even heard of them throwing a party

You should look at Sigma Nu and Theta Chi first. They're the premier party fraternities at the moment that have the the best quality and quantity of social events. That being said, they're both two of the top fraternities, so you'll need to be competitive to get a bid. Also, I hope you aren't planning on doing spring rush, because neither of them do that. Only summer rush.
If you can't get a bid at those or they're not your fit, then your second choices should be Sig Ep, Lambda Chi, or Beta. Sig Ep is the least prestigious of these options, but they are in trouble the least of the three, so it's the safer bet. Beta is traditionally one of the top party fraternities, but they got hit hard by probation and a brotherhood review recently. Still, once they get on their feet, they should be back on top. Lambda Chi would be your last choice because they're constantly in trouble, so they never really get to have a social scene... but they're still a bunch of party boys so I'd give them a look.
If all else fails and you somehow still don't have a bid at any of those five, then go to Pike. You'll get a bid and they have a decent party scene sometimes.

Downtown is the main party scene but good to be with the fraternities that have the most fun so here's my observations: (not really in order, just thoughts)
Sig Nu is the craziest they always have parties that are huge. Good downtown presence
Theta Chi is consistent with good parties, downtown not as much in my opinion, could be wrong or I just don't know many. (sorry)
Beta is really fun but is in pretty deep trouble
Sig Ep does some really big parties and are downtown a lot
Lambda are always on sopro but they go out a ton, especially with their house being right downtown.
These are pretty much the biggest party fraternities. There's others like pike, pi kapp (getting better), KA that have decent party scenes as well, can;t go wrong!

Lambda chi and beta can’t be included when they can’t even have parties.
