how do you start rushing?

For girls you can either do informal recruitment (in winter or spring) in which you only go to the select houses you want, or formal recruitment in the fall when you see every house and its a much more personalized experience. For guys rush is basically the same every quarter-- you go play basketball, eat chicken wings and drink some beer regardless of the time of year. hahah. But I'm assuming you're trying to rush asap, so in that case, reach out to someone in the sorority/frat you're interested in and ask them! Not every chapter is accepting new members though, depending on if they reached their maximum quota at the beginning of the school year.

Most top frats only rush during fall and winter, so that's usually only Phi Psi and Ksig. The rest usually do all year

So all of the sorority houses are in Arroyo Vista, so you can take a bus from campus there. Or if you need directions or more info, go to the indidvidual sorority booths. Everyone will be super nice, so don't sweat it. Just dress appropriately and be yourself - you want to put your best foot forward but also meet people who you'll click with.
