if you want a school with a greek life that only keeps to themselves while at the same time always talking trash and acting like middleschoolers towards eachother, then yeah - perfect. -No open parties at all from any of them ever. -All they do is lie to themselves and eachother for no actual gain other than to avoid their massive lack of self sufficiency. -Disturbin gly low level of creativity and willingness to go outside the box to have fun. -Not about fun, memories, or value. It's all about a paper thin image only they themselves believe. -D at best. Every single frat and sorrority has the same issue. It's a cultural thing.

Greek life in Davis is very fun. It makes a huge school feel like a small community and many members of Greek orgs are heavily involved in many other parts of campus. Would highly recommend anyone to try rushing if they go to Davis because there is absolutely a greek community for everyone here

The only semi decent frat is Theta Chi

Greek Life in Davis is literally the social scene. Unless you have a car and can drive to Sacramento/SF or are old enough to drink, frats are your only ticket to parties. As a Greek life member, if I wasn’t in Greek life I’d be bored out of my mind here and would want to transfer somewhere else. Greek life is 100% worth it if you go to school here.

Greek life at Davis isn't as selective and totally superficial as it is in the south and where most stereotypes come from. It doesn't take much to rush a frat but the top sororities are superficial and fake in selection-- but not otherwise. Good parties because that's all there is to do in this cowtown. Would recommend rushing. Minimal hazing from frats and none in the Panhellenic sororities.

You find some hella cool people and then people that really really worry about the social ladder. Nobody cares if you’re in a top house except for vain people looking to see what what they can get from you. Personally I don’t want to be friends with people that look for friendships solely based on looks and connections. We’re better than this. If that’s how you operate then by all means go for it, and choose a house that fits that. Then again I feel like that’s just Greek life in general not just in Davis. If you don’t roll that way I would join a club that suits your interests. It adds little more depth to your life. Oh also, Greek life is very expensive. Like REALLY expensive. It’s basically paying for friends, let’s be real. See for yourself if it’s worth the money. (Disclaimer: you can find real friends in Greek life, I did! you’ll just be exposed to the sad hierarchy & exclusion. Up to you if you’re willing to stay in those kinds of vibes or get good at blocking that stuff out)

Unless you want four more years of high school drama with other people being very concerned with you and talking about everything you do, don’t come to davis for greek life. The social involvements are a lot better than not joining greek, but compared to a lot of other schools, the people here are very immature and love to be involved in other people’s business. Oh and compared to other large schools like sb and sc there are not a lot of notably attractive people in fraternities or sororities, some people will be offended but it’s the honest truth.
