I'm not in ΔΔΔ but I can tell you but I'm often mistaken for "rich" which cracks me up! My parents laugh at that as well. I work during most breaks to pay my dues and I worked two jobs over one summer. I know from personal experience that things aren't always what they seem. Plus, every house has all sorts of girls. 😄😄😄😄

Does not actually have the most expensive dues either, also middle of the pack. The only ones I know specifically though are AXO (less than DZ) and ZTA (more than DZ)

AXO does not have the most expensive dues. I they are actually less than my friend's in other houses. I wish that dues were public information like they are for IFC so all these rumors would stop and it would make the rushing PNM's lives easier if finances are a major concern for them.

The thing is the older houses are paid off..It only cost about 1,000 more per semester to live in those house....so great deal...room and board for 3,000 a semester...
But it is time for some of them to redo , addd- on or tear down, so dues may be going up....

Dues and fees are to different things.
So, dues cover different things in each chapter, but in general it covers socials, date functions, sisterhood and sometimes tshirts.
Then there are fees: initiation fees your first semester, housing fees that all or some sisters pay, etc.
Then there's meal plans (food) and housing (leases).
So, some chapters have cheaper rents, feea, or dues compared within categories. However, it's hard to compare overall, as no one shares what they pay very publicly. I also agree that this all needs to be published during Rec. A lot of women receive bids, and are blindsided by costs and have to drop. If we just told them exact numbers, say round 2, it's a lot less stressful for them when it comes back up in pledging.
Also, I know DDD is actually relatively inexpensive to live in, but idk if it includes food or what dues run.

My first semester dues, including the new members fees, is 1700. Putting this out there for any girls rushing in the future. It includes a meal plan and everything. The only thing that I think it does not include that some chapters due is t-shirts and there is a small extra charge for date functions.

Dude, dues are a lot, no matter which house and even if you are already well-off. Paying $4000 a year isn't cheap. Second of all, lower-income girls aren't "cheap" either. We're all classy Panhellenic women here.

I posted about Zeta because this is what a friend told me. I want to clarify that I'm not certain what that figure includes besides living in the house and it could be less as you're active longer. But, I'd say $6,000.00 - $10,000.00 is a good ballpark for you and your parents to use for budgeting purposes.

I know a girl in a so-called "top house" whose dad refuses to work and drinks beer all day while her mom works all day to make ends meet. She has to work every break and summers plus two days a week here on campus to pay for her dues. She never goes anywhere and is not what you'd call sophisticated at all but she does work to justify her sorority costs. I also know two girls in so-called "lower houses" whose parents are filthy rich. So your line of thinking is out of line.
