What's the deal with the threads and comments mentioning certain houses being more or less SOFLO? what is the difference and what does it mean?

SOFLO = South Florida (think miami-ish)
NOFLO = North Florida (think georgia-ish)

Thanks! Is being "SOFLO" a bad thing though or looked down upon? Are the two parts of Florida really that different once everyone is in Greek Life?

It's not looked down upon! Of course depending on who you are talking to you'll definitely hear preferences. The styles are quite different but EVERY house has both types. No one house is entirely inclusive of either style.
