recruitment schedule

by: confused pnm

I'm confused by the schedule because it seems like some parts may not apply to PNMs like "rec exec"? If I'm right what are our actual times?

Rec Exec is when they must meet, Pi Chi is when the Pi Chis must meet, and Homebase is when you are expected to be at your homebase.
Your homebase is where you meet your Pi Chis every day before recruitment, and it is a sorority house. So it may be XO or ADPi or Phi Mu, it just depends. And you meet an hour before the parties actually start to make sure everybody is in attendance and get you prepped.

I'm confused too. I thought there were only 16 chapters but for the first round there is 22 parties listed?? How does that work.

Some of the parties scheduled are breaks where you sit in the AC and can eat a snack or freshen up! Believe me you'll need it after a long day of parties :)

What happens if you have classes during preference round and bid day? Is there a way to make sure i wont have to go to a party during my class?

Talk to a pi chi at your orientation. They have recruitment excuse papers that you fill out if you have a class conflict. Try not to miss bid day though! That's a day you'll always remember. And it's syllabus week the first week of school I doubt we're learning much :) haha but if you don't want to miss class, I totally understand. Just talk to a pi chi and they will make accommodations for you. My friend missed all of prefs because of class so she just picked a house she wanted that she had left and she got matched so it's not impossible, but it is a risk.

DON'T MISS BID DAY! That's the best day! Frankly it's drop/add week, so nothing happens in class at all, and it's worth missing one or two classes for bid day. Do what makes you comfortable, but my advice would be to not miss bid day.

Your schedule will be explained in detail by your pi chis though! Work with them and let them know your concerns and they'll do their best to make it so that your classes won't conflict with prefs rounds.
