stop

by:

"Will I not get a bid if I'm from Kansas?" "Will I not get a bid if I'm wearing blue nail polish?" PNMs, just stop. Some of the questions you ask are ridiculous. Just go through rush, look nice, be friendly to everyone, and you'll end up where you're supposed to be.

maybe I'm scared that where I'm "supposed to be" is dropped if I go in knowing nothing. god forbid someone wants to make their sorority dreams come true

PNM, I'm not saying you shouldn't ask questions because you definitely should. But some of the questions I've seen on here are ridiculous or make absolutely no sense. Just think before you post.

agreed! i get that they are scared but some of these things are so ridiculous. like they really think we base a membership decision on their nail color or type of shoe they wear on a certain day. it's tiresome.

Hey I totally had no idea what I was doing during recruitment, committed SO many faux-pas, especially when it came to what to wear (other PNMs let me know how ridiculous I looked.. thanks guys!) and said dumb things just to see what happened (I really wasn't sold on the idea of being in a sorority..) and still pref'd at solid (maybe not 'top', but close) houses and got a bid! Being yourself works sometimes, it's good to strip away some of the 'performance' that recruitment is. I'm lucky I ended up in house that loves sisters for who they are and not who they try to appear to be :)
