fall rush
by: HelpCan someone breifly explain to me how fall rush works at UF? Does a lot of the recruitment happen over the summer?

there are a lot of parties held over summer at off campus houses, each fraternity will throw at least one party a week and invite the new freshmen that they know or have met throughout summer. I attended summer B my freshman year and I think it put me at an advantage during rushing because i already knew so many of the brothers at multiple houses from summer parties.

That is really helpful to know. I would assume it is easier to get to the parties and meet the brothers over the summer as there are less other potentials and things would be less chaotic.

yeah it is definitely less chaotic over summer, it is easy to go out 5-6 times a week because you will not be taking very difficult classes if you even take more than one class. Would without a doubt recommend doing summer B. And yeah you will be able to meet the older guys a lot easier and they let practically any guys into their parties, as to where fall is a whole different scene and very exclusive (but if you already know them from summer B most will reach out and personally invite you to fall parties)

Sorry I forget to specify, I was asking about fraternity rush. I'm not going to be at a disadvantage if I don't spend my summer in Florida and miss rush events correct? Because I've heard at schools like Georgia and Bama they recruit pretty hard and hold events over the summer.
