rerushing this year

You are not the first to rerush. A lot of people do much better the second time around because they know what to expect and they have had a chance to meet members who could speak for them. There is no shame in rerushing but if you act ashamed or unconfident then that will hurt you. Just dive in and own yourself and don't worry about imagined judgement.

person above me lied. you will be judged. my sorority automatically puts you at the bottom of the list. you didn’t make the cut the first time and you weren’t able to make the houses you were given work. you also didn’t make the connections to get cob or spring rush. this is going to happen with other houses too. expect heavy cuts first and second round.

some houses have the rule once your cut from a house you cannot get in. Some houses are required to keep your file for a year for the reason you may go through recruitment again. If your situation is maybe you put houses lower round 1 and 2 and 3 so you never went to them even though they would have invited you back then you can expect to perhaps get invited to those houses. But if you are going through recruitment a second time not due to wanting to improve your grades(let's fact it most UF girls have good grades)but for getting in sorority you perceive to have higher tiers you may be disappointed. UF's recruitment is done in way to evenly distribute invites across houses and if a house has a larger number of girls and has historically done well in prior recruitments they will not be allowed to invite back as many girls each round as for example the newer houses on campus looking to build up their chapters totals. So if you did not do spring recruitment or go after the new sorority on campus as you wanted what people think are higher tiers you may be hurt. If you want a great group of girls then hopefully you will be open and find your home in any tier. All houses have good qualities at UF. Good luck and recall this is not about you sorority girls rushing you may really truly like you but they may have a tough quota cap in the house or only take x amount of girls that are not freshman(all though FL tries to even this out for upperclassman going through recruitment).

Sororities do not keep files pls don’t listen to these people. My best friend and I both rerushed and got top and mid houses just like we wanted. Nobody has the energy or time to be keeping a damn list lol. Remember, UF isn’t like bama where ppl go to school there purely for the Greek life. UF is a school first for most everyone.

A couple years ago a took a bid from Dz. Good house but not my house. I rushed last year and preffed at Dg and Kd. I got a bid from KD. I am very happy . There is no file ladies.

I’m going to be completely honest with you — houses do not keep files on every single girl they’ve dropped. that’s simply too much data. majority of girls do a lot better when they rerush because they’re more confident, have more connections, tend to be more involved on campus, etc. like i’ve seen soo many girls that got bids from bottom houses (or girls who got completely dropped) rerush and get into top and middle houses!

the only way a house is keeping a “file” on u per say and immediately dropping u is the following scenario:
you rushed in fall 2022 and got a bid from XYZ. you did not feel like u fit in and dropped XYZ before initiation.
now you’re rerushing in fall 2023. XYZ will automatically drop you going into round 2 because they know you don’t want them and want to spare the awkward interaction for both the girl and the member. other houses may or may not know you pledged XYZ if they stalk ur socials, but they likely won’t hold it against you.

a couple of years back there was a girl who dropped a top house to rerush and ended up in another top tier and was a highly desired pnm soooo don’t let anyone get in ur head, u have a fresh slate at basically every house!!!

im rerushing!!! dont feel bad. just be confident and be you and it will work out. and if it doesnt then you know it simply wasnt meant to be. this is my mentality and i feel so much less anxious about recruitment than i did last year. i know who i am and if they dont like it thats life.
