questions as a pnm

by: helpme

I'm a transfer student, but idk if i should rush or not. I'm pre-med, so, my biggest concern is finding a balance because i spend most of my time studying during the week. Any advice is appreciated.

Ignore that person above^

I also was a transfer student and I am similarly pre-med. I rushed and have never regretted it once. UF is a big school and it is kinda hard to make friends when you are entering upper level courses and a lot of these people have been here since freshman year. I feel like joining a sorority really helped me make friends and grow as a person.

Finding time to balance sorority stuff, school, and work is definitely possible and they even encourage it because they care about your success and GPA just like you do. I have a part time job and I am on my sororities exec board so I promise you can balance it all! Another good bonus is that there are usually a few girls with the same major or classes as you that you can study with!

Additionally, if you join and end up recruiting next year youll prob learn a lot about interviewing and that can help with med school interviews!

There are other pre-meds in sororities. If you join one of these, some of your sisters will be with you in classes and some will be older and have already taken them. It's great to be in a sorority with a larger network and support group than you would have on your own. It's all about focus and time management, and surrounding yourself with like-minded people that will help you. When you rush you may find that you are paired with some other pre-meds. Ask them how they balance sorority involvement and keeping up grades.
