Legacy doesn't mean much these days. There are tons of legacies now so there aren't the special considerations that used to be in place. A chapter legacy is a bit better than a legacy from somewhere else, but still doesn't matter like it used to. You are smart to keep an open mind. Be sure to get a rec for XO and that the writer makes sure to indicate you are a legacy.

Chi-O is a great house but due to the fraternity being so large in numbers around the US many girls are legacies for this house and many double and triple. Again legacy policies were changed in recent years so there is no special sauce of priv. This helped groups like Chi-O as they had so many legacies cone through it made it so it was hard to have room for new girls without connections. Either way I know you will find a lovely house and be proud --although I hope it will be Chi-O a nice tradition for your mom and you.
