srat spring rush
by: anonI was wondering if it's easy to integrate into the sorority and make friends when rushing in the spring (obv ik fall is best). I don't want to rush as a junior in the fall (+ I won't b in gville that semester)

tbh unless you are 100% sure you want this house and just HAVE to be in a sorority, i’d wait til fall. typically less than half the houses on campus hold spring rush and you’d miss out on the opportunity to meet most of the houses on campus if you get a spring bid. l
and yes, it’s usually harder to integrate as a spring bid at first but it depends on both the chapter and the individual. your pc will likely be small so there’s a good chance you’ll be close with them tho. i think it’s more likely your big will be your age or a 2nd semester member than not when you’re a spring bid. but once you go through the sorority side of recruitment with your chapter, everyone gets closer with their pledge class as well as different pc’s. so in the end it’s what you make of it and how much you are putting yourself out there and going to meals, events, hanging at the house, etc. just like everyone else!

Honestly, the best chance you have of integrating with the chapter as a spring new member is doing rush in the fall with the chapter as a sister. You get real close putting on rush together. And if you are an older new member, it gets harder and harder to integrate because your new member class is your close friend group but they are going to be younger, and the other girls that are your age have already formed their friend groups much earlier. With that said, a COB this spring sounds like your very best chance for a good outcome. Do it, take a bid, and throw yourself into everything you can at the house to get to know people.
