Observations from a Pi Chi

It's late, I've barely slept so sorry if some of this is incoherent. The main thing I want to stress is that while GR is obsessed with tiers, the girls rushing don't really care about tiers. It's more about the overall vibe and who they fit in with. I saw girls pref a higher ranked house and mid house and preffed the mid house because she felt more comfortable.
Here are some general observations from my group. Not going to cover every house and the houses listed below aren't in order according to the stupid ranks on this site.
Tridelt/KD/Zeta/Adpi, etc: These so called top houses generate a lot of buzz because they do a great job of making PNMs feel welcome. However some girls in my group felt these houses were intimidating or a little superficial. There are amazing women in these houses but they aren't for everyone and they cut the hardest, which is hard for a lot of girls.
Mid tier houses:
There's a lot of arguing on GR on who is mid tier but the truth is they are all desirable and fit different PNMs. DZ and ChiO aren't going to cross rush Theta and Deeph for the most part (not saying it never happens). Mid tiers have to cut a lot of girls too and for some, these were way harder than the higher tier cuts.
Lower tier houses:
Again I think ranking is dumb because many PNMs wanted Phi Mu, Kappa, Gamma Phi from the start. Some girls don't get to know these houses as well until they get cut from higher ranked houses. The truth is that these houses all have amazing women.
If you lined up the girls in my group and tried to guess where they ended up based on how they look, you'd get it wrong most of the time. Stop with the stupid ranks. There are no undesired houses.\n\n\n\n\n

This was second year of being a Pi Chi. I notice girls are so caught up in tiers The number one house is the house you join. I had to console two girls that dropped out completely because the were cut by the top 4 houses. Your house is the house you feel totally at home . I love my middle tier house and I also preffed at a bottom tier house. I would have been happy there also. Girls need to grow up and stop being superficial .

Tridelt is totally looks and money/fashion oriented. There is not much sisterhood or substance.

I didn't put much value in the "tiers". I wish more girls did the same. I heard so many girls focusing on a rank and not how they felt at a house or finding girls like them...not having good conversations and giving each house a chance...some focused on the superficial instead of finding girls like them and a sisterhood. It made me sad to see so many girls crying and dropping out because someone made them think that if they didn't get a certain house that there was something wrong with them. I think there is a house for everyone and every house has something to offer.
I had a fairly full schedule the first day of different "tiers" and after it was all done, I chose Kappa because that is the one house where I felt like the girls were real and genuine and had a diversity of interests and held the same values as me, I loved their philanthropy, and it's where I just felt like I was home. For me, I wasn't interested in going to a house that was considered a certain rank on this site just to impress someone else with my letters because they based worth on letters. It's not about them...it's about me and my sisters for life. I wish more girls would see that. It was a hard week and I had to do a lot of soul searching to decide, but in the end I don't think there is a wrong house. I hope the girls that dropped will come back with a different perspective and trust the process and try again though.

The truth is that the majority of PNMs do care about tiers. Maybe its not the main thing on their mind but they don’t just ignore it. The tiers exist for a reason. It doesn’t mean that the women in mid/bottom tiers are “worse” women than top because there are plenty of amazing, talented, passionate, and beautiful women at the bottom just like there are at the top. At the end of the day rush is about going where you fit and it doesn’t matter if that’s a top, mid, or bottom tier house but to say nobody cares about them is just wrong.

So if by your admission there are amazing, talented, passionate, and beautiful women in all houses, what makes one a top tier and one a bottom tier? Seems like most of the posts about ranking reference who has the "hot cheerleader pageant girls" or who has the biggest or newest house or some other superficial criteria. Just so pnm's know when someone is ranking a house just what it's actually being judged on and who is doing the judging.

I joined a true top house . No one is going to make me feel bad for joining a top tier house. I am not superficial . I knew a lot of girls in the house prior to rushing. My older sister. Graduated from this house.5 years ago. My house fits me perfectly . I am no different from girls in the middle and bottom tier houses. I do not think I am better than anyone else. This is a which hunt against top tier houses .

These PNMs that drop because the top 4 dropped them will very much regret it and I am in one of those sororities. I love my house but would have not done this. They are going thru a year of no socials, big/little, homecoming etc. They will miss out on so much.
Greek life has a tier system but it’s not nearly as big of a deal as it is on this site
