is there a divide between greeks and gdi in uf?

What do you mean by “divide”? Most people in Greek life will make friends outside of it, so there isn’t a barrier in that sense. But socially, there is a big difference. Geed parties, from my experience, generally have:
• less people
• more guys
• way way more alcohol, that gets drank way faster
• much more inexperienced partiers
If you mean a divide as in “do we hate each other”, there are definitely some weirdos out on campus who really hate Greek life. But overall it’s more than common to have good relationships with people outside of your chapter. Who doesn’t love a good geed friend? Plus non-sorority girls can be really fun to have at parties sometimes.

I'm on here from another SEC school. From what I have personally experienced, there is far more open resentment and stereotyping coming from GDI's toward Greeks than the opposite. It's easier to make friends among Greeks because if you don't know someone in another Greek organization you will surely know someone who does and that's how you meet more and more people. Greek social life revolves around fellow Greeks so that's who we know, who we hang with, and also sit with in class and study with. We aren't going to schedule a social with a dorm group or the concert band or whatever, so I get how GDI's can think we are snobby and insular. But I think they judge us automatically but we really aren't even thinking about them haha. And if I think you are a cool GDI then in my mind you are a great potential member, js.
