Doubt it. The scandal is mostly at selective presitigous private schools like Duke and USC. The people who can pay bribes five or six figures probably consider a state school like UF beneath them and can afford to shell out the big bucks to pay for a private school.

The college admissions scandal missed Duke. Although Wake Forest was part of it, mostly it hit California and northeast colleges since the parents were from from those areas. UCLA, U of Texas, and UC San Diego, all public schools, were caught up in it. If Rick Singer had connections in Florida, there would have been parents who would have paid to get their bambinos into UF. Don’t discount the allure of UF.

You have a good point, but even if people paid their way in, it wouldn't probably be so blatant, rather exerting their influence through donations, naming a building, etc. The student body here as a whole is pretty middle/upper middle class compared to the filthy rich kids at Wake, USC, SMU, Emory, etc.

I can see why people tried to bribe their kids way into

UT-it's Austin and UT probably has a great party scene, yes it's the flagship state school, but it's competitive because of the trip 10% rule in Texas wherein state schools have to admit the top 10% of a graduating class in high schools in Texas

UCSD-It's San Diego, great weather, great campus, probably a strip larger more than mid

UF is a great school, but people don't come here specifically for the party scene, which is what Loughlins kid wanted to go to USC for
