what should we wear at orientation?

Something cute and casual! Think a very casual romper or a shirt dress with flats/sandals. You’ll only be there for an hour and a half max, so it’s really not neccesary to go all out

Round two is 14 and round 3 is 8. I have never met a single person who has gotten called back to every single houses. It’s extremely rare and I wouldn’t count on it. There are girls who get dropped by all but 3 or 4 in the beginning and make it through to bid day. It doesn’t natter the number of houses, but only that you’re comfortable with your choices and love the houses you have! Don’t sweat it, Rush is a brutal process: talking to other girls about their number of houses or what tier they’re in will make you more nervous! You’ll be fine :)

they say the doors open at 4:30 but orientation starts at 6? what do you do when you get there when the doors are open earlier than the event starts?

Most girls will show up around 5/5:15! When I was going through rush, I used that time to meet girls sitting near me and get to know my roommate better. It’s pretty chill!

What can you do to stand out? I have heard that sometimes people fall through the cracks... how often does that happen? Even if you're pretty and outgoing?

Every year you’ll get about 300/400 girls going through recruitment who will end up being dropped or dropping themselves. I would say half of these girls are simply overlooked by the masses of women who are rushing. The houses have a massive job, and it’s pretty easy to mess up sometimes

One piece of advice I would have is to wear something that stands out. Whether it’s a statement necklace or a nail/lip color, do something that will make it easier for the girl you are talking to to put a name to a face. You can do this especially much easier in round 2/3 when you’re wearing your own clothes. You can also keep your social media open, as it kinda all helps your “brand image” and having them recognize you more easily. Although it may be a mutual selection process, largely recruitment is left up to the sororities, and you should do everything you can to put your best foot forward and let your personality shine through as much as you can :)

PLEASE do yourself a favor and don’t try to stand out using your clothes. I will not remember a statement necklace. I will remember interesting things about you as a person though.

-Look your best
-be engaging. Don’t just sit there and wait for the actives to ask you questions. Be interested and ask questions.
-be complimentary without being fake
-be confident
-tell them something unique and positive about yourself
