out of state

by: LL

How do out of state PNM's do at UF? Rushing this fall and I am out of state, have rec's and also a direct legacy to a so called top house at UF ( mom/ not UF but another SEC school). I know at other SEC schools being out of state can get you cut because of your lack of connections no matter how good you look on paper.

The top three houses will cut you no matter a legacy or not, That being KD, ZEta, and Adpi. You would be better off if your mom went to UF.. Good luck! You will need it.

Legacy status doesn’t mean much unless you have an active sister. Houses generally don’t discriminate on out Of state pnms. You will be on a level playing field.

We may not be Alabama as for as rushing and Greek life but remember, UF students are very smart to boot. Be yourself and you will be fine. I was also a legacy at a top house here but went else where. Students at YF do not spend thousand if dollars on rushing coaches like at Bama.

The state of Florida is a very transient state, so OOS students are more warmly received than one might find at other SEC schools. But, being OOS, your challenge will be having contacts in the sororities or fraternities to help pull you in.
