what about mid and lower tier sororitys?

by: pnm

All this site ever talks about is the top house ADPI, ZTA, KD, and DDD. What about the middle and lower tier sororities. What are they like just trying to get honest opinions before rush.

Those are the only 4 houses that matter here at UF. No one cares about xo, Deeph, phi mu, gammma Pi phi.

I will skippy the middle tier and lower tier houses. As a future PNM , the lowest I will go is Tri delt. If I do not get a bid from the top 4 I do not want to be in phi mu, Axo, kapppa, theta. I have high standards and do not want to be a reject. That is what the middle and lowest tiers are. No thanks.

This is not at all true. I am in a top tier house and hang out with a ton of girls in middle tier and some bottom tier houses. So many of the girls in my chapter date guys in all sorts of “tiers”. Being in a top tier can give you a bit of “wow you’re in that house? Cool!” But not much really. And I don’t know of anyone who meets someone cool and funny and says “oh but she’s in XMP...” as a negative.

Every chapter is relevant but each has a different vibe (partiers, good girls, alternative, etc). But the vibes of the houses are actually pretty evident during the rush process.

Those are the only house that matter on this toxic site where people constantly try to pit the top houses against each other as some weird competition. There are differences among them, but it’s mostly differences in the kinds of girls they attract. Any ranking is super fluid and your personal experiences should count for waaaaay more than anything you read on here. I ended up falling in love with my “top tier” house without even knowing this site exists because I had a feel for the women in the chapter.

The above comment is not true at all, of course people care about mid and lower tier houses. I am in what one would say is "upper middle" and I have lots of friends in deeph and DZ. All of the middle and bottom tier still have socials and date parties, still have fun together, and are still strong and solid chapters

For a lot of girls in the “top” houses, it’s just a lucky roll of the dice that they are there. Lots of really great girls go through rush, and yet there are only so many openings in the “top” houses. Therefore, rest assured that you will find bright, friendly, and fun girls in all the chapters. After all, we all made it through UF admissions! Nevertheless, sororities are social groups (along with some of the more honorable purposes that we claim), so we have to pass through a screen for our socialability to join a sorority. Going through rush, you’ll get judged on having the right looks, self confidence, brains, and personality. Some girls will be lucky enough to have close friends in the sorority of their choice, and that connection alone can pull them to the front of the line. It’s only a very broad generalization that the girls with the best combination socialability are in the “top” houses because the other factors of friendships and legacies get mixed in. Unlike admissions to UF, there are no merit or diversity standards (nor should there be for a group of best friends). Having said all this, I encourage you to go through rush and see if you find a good fit. If you do, your college experience will be greatly enhanced with the extra layer of socializing, which has no rival in any of the other activities on campus.

No it is not luck that I got in one of those top tier houses. I preffed at two top 4 houses and Pi phi. I obviously did something right. I did not no a soul in any of those houses. I am beautiful, smart, thin, outgoing and was good at conversations. I am the real deal. I am obviously better than all the girls in the bottom tier, and 99. 9 in the middle tier. I earned my top spot. The girls in the top are better than others and we know it!

I thought you did not give a fck about tiers. Had to make sure that you had the middle and bottom tier in the right rank, shut up and get off this site.

To LUCKY

Clearly you lack the kind of qualities that matter at all in life by saying that getting into two top houses makes you instantly better than everyone else. Being thin and beautiful are extremely fleeting qualities and you will be left with your horrifically vomitous personality when they are gone. Have fun living a poisonous life.

Miss Lucky, you give the top sororities a bad mark by your arrogance. The “real deal”, huh? You’d be better off if you put it into perspective that you made it into one of the top sororities at the 42nd best national college in America. Does that really mean that you’re top of the heap?

I knew I would get into one of the 4 top houses. 3 of the top 4 really really wanted me. I am the real deal, I did get a bid. Pageant girl, HC queen, student Body President , outgoing very pretty. You sound so bitter , it is disgusting. Good luck to you! I do not need the luck as I had the credentials for the top tier houses. You obviously did not. Bye loser!

Lucky,

I was given bids at three top houses and chose the one I loved the most so apparently that makes me “worthy” to talk to you. Your true self has been exposed by the comments you choose to leave under the safety of anonymity. Rest assured that your emphasis on beauty with no regard for character will lead you to a miserable existence. Good looks can give you an advantage in life, but nothing can make up for such a horrific lack of empathy and decency. The woman underneath your makeup is nowhere close to beautiful.

Sure some girls only want top tiers. But the majority of PNMs get middle or lower tiers. What’s wrong with that? At least they joined a sorority!

Part of the reason we join sororities is for after college networking and connections. My mom and aunt are in different sororities (I’m in one of them) and from what I can tell, they all work the same and even help each other get jobs or other opportunities (like The Junior League)!!!

Imagine that!

All the sororities participate in all the same activities like derby, DM, etc. and then have their own invidual activities. You can excel in any tier house.

“Tiers” only matter to frat boys.

You can have a wonderful sorority experience in any chapter. It's about the people, not perceived ranks.
