Just transferred as a senior. Plan on pledging while getting masters. Is it worth it. My boys said they’ll take me in but the only reason is because I have legacy. Would it be worth it or would I have time? Thanks guys

You can pledge or start a graduate degree. You can't do both. Why would you want to be a pledge with 18 year old freshmen?

Honestly if it's something you want to do, then go ahead and go to rush. That being said, you will be surrounded with a lot of younger guys like freshmen, and sophomores but it's not like there were never any people in your situation. With your age, some fraternities might not consider you but a lot are open minded

if theyre your good friends they're probably going to let you come to their tailgates and parties so there's really no point in rushing, waste of money and time

Depends what you want. If you just want to go to a few parties and not really interested in the rest dont do it. However, if you want the experience and the bonds that come with a fraternity then these answers are all wrong. It will be a bit harder but if you're cool and connect right you should not have an issue finding the right house for you (not necessarily the house you want at first, some people struggle to get this) you will be older but whatever. Use that to be a leader within your PC and quickly within the chapter when you are a member. Respect those who are already brothers, even the sophomores. You have more life experiences and seniority in most other things but they have more in the fraternity realm don't forget that. Id take one semester of being a pledge than no semester of greek life hands down. My geed semester was the worst of college so far, especially in a smaller town like UF. A pledge with a legal ID is always gold to a PC, use it btw. Enjoy what you can while you can and dont stop until you find the right house for you.

If you think its good for you, you should join them BUT you might want to consider a professional frat that takes graduates so you're not surrounded by just children and the odd one out, you know what I mean? Like if you're leagues older than everyone else it might seem weird

Thanks man for the advice. Thanks #4. I have a clear understanding what I want to do now. I don’t think it’s weird and my buddies don’t think it’s weird. It’s more than just tailgates and parties. My older bro was part of it. He works for an investment bank and still talks with his brothers. Even works with a few. legacy is a big part of it. I definitely will check it out in the Fall. I think it’s worth it. Thanks guys
