will weight significantly decrease chances?

Hey y’all.
Breaking the unspoken PNM rule by being on here, but fall recruitment registration opened and I wanted to know if my weight will affect me from getting a bid AT ALL.
NGL, I am pretty overweight (but hopefully losing 20-30 pounds this summer in time for rush, even though i’ll still have a lot to lose) however I definitely take pride in my appearance, and am seen as extremely funny and outgoing.
At this point, I’ve accepted that I’m not going to end up in a top tier house, however I have a lot of friends currently in DG, Deeph, XO that can help my chances (as well as being a legacy). I don’t mind being in a “lower tier” as long as I’m accepted in a house with amazing sisters, but I’m scared of how my weight will affect that.
Any advice?

Keep up that weight loss; good for you! You can do this. Wear only what is flattering on you, it has to make YOU look good, so don't just wear what is trendy if it doesn't do you justice. Hair and makeup very important. Nice smile with white teeth. Tidy nails. Show your funny and outgoing side, and above all the most important thing is to have confidence in yourself. This is so hard during recruitment for every girl so don't let the nerves get to you. Be polished and confident! Good luck.

Wear whatever makes you feel good but don’t have high expectations. From those you’ve listed and in general friends and being a legacy only takes you so far, just be yourself but expect to only get the bottom tier that way your less stressed

Most likely your chances will be cut by a good amount of houses, but dont be worried about "lower" tier houses. Being in a low tier sorority is better than nothing at all! It way more competitive here since we are a big sec school compared to smaller schools elsewhere

Not true. Very easy to get a bid from gamma, Sk, Axo, Kappa, phi mu. Not that competiive at all. I am one of those houses. I preffed at three. They all wanted me. I am truly happy in my house. The lower tier is great. No one judges you and they LOVE you for what you are. Period. If I had to do it again I still would go to the bottom.

Work hard on dropping the weight and not just for rush......for your health. You will feel amazing and more confident. Do it!
