I’ll go so far as agree that the top tier has a higher level of confidence. They are “face” people who come off well in first impressions. However, I won’t give them higher marks for brains or people skills. For sororitys, their beauty is more made up and striking like a model, while the other tiers have a more wholesome and natural beauty. Yes, the weight thing gets tucked into the lesser tiers. For frats the fortune of having the right look and a natural aggressiveness is concentrated in the top tier, but the other values that follow from a good moral compass have minimal correlation with the dominant characteristics of the top tier. If you are not a “face” person, you will be happier in a more normal group in the mid-tiers. There are 25,000 undergrads at Florida, And only a 1000 or so members of the “top tiers”. You can have a great time without them!

The top tiers have higher return rates during recruitment because everyone wants to hang with the so called beautiful people. Look at the incoming freshmen. The ones rushing usually follow the same 4 houses and we all know who they are. Hint: they start with A,D, K and Z. Many will be disappointed during recruitment because there will probably be around 70 spots per house this year with Alpha Phi colonizing.
