They actually make you sign into your canvas and if you have lower than a 4.5 they waterboard you.

does anyone have an actual answer for this? I'm thinking of rushing but i don't want to be dissapointed if my gpa is not to their standards? Is there a minimum or do they actually even verify? Anything is helpful! thanks!

Pretty sure Panhellenic verifies. So the 2020's average incoming GPA was a 4.35. The all Greek average GPA is higher than the overall UF GPA, with Panhellenic's being the highest of all Greek councils. So if you're above a 4.35, I'd say you're fine. If you're under, you're going to want to play up your extracurriculars to show how else you could contribute to the sorority. All chapters need girls to fill their intramural teams, and want girls who will participate in school wide philanthropies (DM), student government, etc. Emphasize your athletic and leadership skills. I'm sorry if this isn't super concrete, but each chapter's recruitment process is secret, including what their minimum GPA is. I would still suggest that you give it a try, though. Good luck!

How about current UF students. I'm a sophomore and my GPA is in the 3.4-3.5 range. Is that enough?

i'm a soph with a 2,7, is that too low? do they really care hahah

Yes, they really care because their first cut is GPA cuts because it's easiest. Most sororities will cut below a 3.0

sorry but just so you know yes, my chapter (don't ask who) is required to drop anyone below a 3.0 by nationals, and for those of us who are already sisters, a 2.7 would mean probation

nah girl, as long as you're cool and involved you're probably fine since you're over 3.0

I rushed as a sophomore, had a 2.7 gpa, listed a 3.0 on my application, and got a top house. I don't think they check.

If you google UF sorority gpas you can see the most recent lists on the office of student involvement. The list from last Spring shows the bottom 5 GPA's as:
AOPI
DG
ZTA
SK
GPHI

AOPI, DG, ZTA's were above 3.4 which is really close to the Panhellenic average and is above University average. SK and GPHI were in the 3.2 range, which was below the Panhellenic and University average. University average is 3.34 and Panhellenic is 3.45. Gives you an idea what the ranges are and what each chapter averages. Overall it is nice that even with all the social stuff going on, sororities have a lot of students with good grades. If you don't agree with this, you can look it up yourself. I thought it was helpful when going through recruitment.
