full time / part time

by: Pnm

I was wondering if it mattered if I was going full time or part time and looking to join a sorority.

it does matter--some sororities will not accept part-time students; in fact, most won't.

you are required to be a full time student in order to go through recruitment.

What if I have 21 credits from high school?

being a full-time student means you're taking at least 12 semester hours of credits in a semester. credits from high school have nothing to do with it

I was getting residency when I went through formal recruitment so I was a part time student - it was never an issue with the process and it was never a problem with my house for the entire year that I was part time. Not sure if I can speak for all of the houses. Definitely don't let it stop you from going Greek!

Like the comments above, in some houses it does matter if you're a full time or part time student. Other houses, it doesn't matter at all. Still join Panhellenic Recruitment and speak with your Rho Gamma about it! :)
