why is isu an outlier?
by: Why?Why does ISU have an average act of only 24? Even OSU has one of 29, and several other state colleges also have relatively high ones. Why is ISU's act average so low? I am embarrassed for Illinois, and for my home town, Hinsdale. We need to attract better students to our colleges.

Its because the University of Illinois is a top 10 public school in the country. OSU may have an average of 29, but Ohio university has a much lower average. You see this in most states with two large public universities, one school accepts those who ant get into the other.

Good idea, I never thought of it that way. It does seem to be true for many states with 2 state colleges, one ends up with more prestige while the other gets the rejects
