incoming freshman
by: SororitiesI'm an incoming freshman and am really interested in joining Theta, APhi, or PiPhi. I'm a legacy to one of these and I can get rec letters for all 3, does that even matter here? Are they looked at a lot?

Rec letters don't really matter here. They might get you invited back to second round but that's about it. And legacy status really only helps if you're a legacy AT Miami, not some other school. Also those are extremely competitive sororities with totally different personalities, so I suggest you find out which is most like you and compare it to others. For example, Pi Phi is chill and known for partying. Similar sororities that are easier to get into are DZ, Zeta and Gamma Phi (personal opinion, I'm sure someone will argue it)

you have to be open minded. Greek rank changes every year, so those three rankings not even matter and especially will not matter when you are an upperclassman here.
But if you are seriously set on those, you need to consider this:
They are all completely different. Theta and pi phi could not be more different.
Aphi is a little more neutral, however there are others similar that are great.
In my PERSONAL opinion, theta and aphi are somewhat similar. Similar mid tiers would be kappa, phi mu.
On the contrary, pi phi is a little more similar to axo and dz. similar mid tiers would be zeta and g phi.

As a freshman going in to rush I wanted a certain sorority and ended up in one completely opposite that I fit in with much more. Honestly going through recruitment the goal is to have an open mind and never get too comfortable because you can get cut at any moment. Just go in with no expectations because those three are actually very different but you have time don't think about it too much the system works its self out

Reality is this, you are most likely saying you want to be in one of these three because they are the most popular sororities and you want to maintain status, but here at college no one really cares (well other than those who are "top tier". You have never met anyone in any greek organization so why you would decide those three are the ones for you is beyond me... why dont you wait til you actually spend atleast a few days here as a freshmen and meet some of the chapters before you decide.

Definitely. APhi tends to party more than Theta, Theta parties the least and PiPhi parties the most.
