tips on rushing adpi if i don't have connections

by: tigertownbound

Hi everyone! I plan on attending Clemson in the fall of 2018 (I know I'm very early haha). I REALLY want to be a part of the ADPi sisterhood because I love their philanthropy, values, members, ect.
However, I am coming from OOS (north carolina) and I know no one ins ANY of the sororities at Clemson. I come from a smaller high school so I don't have a ton of instagram followers. But I do have stellar grades (I plan on being part of the honors college) and great extracurriculars (varsity cheer captain). Also my mom's best friend was an ADPi so she is writing me a rec letter.
I know that ADPi is very selective so do you think I have a shot even if I'm not a legacy/made of money? And do you have any tips for me?
Thank you SOSO much!!

i went through rush this past fall and they weren't at my top but they're really sweet girls, anyways, when you look at the lines to all of the houses during round 2 you can see that their lines are always super short!! they're really selective and as far as i know most of the bigger sororities do big cuts after the first and second rounds. so really have some conversation planned out for round 1! but you have plenty of time.

Adpi is a great sorority, but it is very local, uppity, and connections/legacy based, so an out of stater might not even feel welcome. I personally went through recruitment this year as an out of stater and member of the honors college with a very high gpa, and I ranked adpi dead last after the first round even though they're 'top tier' because I fear like the girls rushing me had no interest in me at all: they already know who they want. Remember all philanthropys are important and worthwhile, and you'll love wherever you end up, this year just focus on keeping your grades up and getting recs for every chapter

Don't go into rush only wanting to be in one sorority. You'll miss the opportunities to see all the other sororities and then be blindsided if the one you want drops you.

ADPis give great head. It’s really simple. To be an ADPi you must give great head.

Hope you plan on staying in South Carolina the rest of your life then because ADPi sucks outside the South.

Adpi's sisterhood is awful. New members are having a hard time making friends...really cliquey and not worth it

when i went through recruitment this fall 2017 in my adpi rounds i always seemed to be talking to girls from out of state. While the majority of adpi's might be southern they have a good amount of members from the north as well. I came in as a triple legacy to a different sorority that i knew i wanted before I even got to clemson, but adpi didnt drop me even though im from jersey. Just be yourself!!
