how serious is sorority life here?

by: Sophomore Transfer

Transferring in from a school where if you go Greek, it's your whole life and you really don't have time to do anything else or have any friends besides your sisters. You're not allowed to take solo selfies, constant mandatory dry weeks throughout the year (probably cuz of a death and numerous near-deaths this year), 2 week long formal rush, etc etc. I'd wanna go Greek for the sisterhood, networking, and philanthropy, but I also want to have a life outside of it and not have my entire life be dictated by rules. Is GSU laid back enough that you can be a member of a sorority without it being your entire social and campus life?

Greek at GSU is NOT like that at all! It's is very welcoming, diverse and supportive! Formal rush is only 3 days and from there you will get to know all the different sororities in a positive manner.
