thoughts of guidence

I would like to ask a question? If it is a male that has made mistakes in the past and has changed his life completely around and has 3 degrees. But still can't catch a break. He is still trying to find some kind of inspiration from someone. He is just at a university now and continuing his education. Is it fair that a person's past should judge who they are at the current time? Are there people out in the world that allow second chances anymore? What if this was you personally would you want someone to give guidance? Can a Fraternity or counselor or give some guidance? If anyone knows please respond.
