the panhellenic council voted to not add any more chapters to campus for at least 2 years. you can't just start a new chapter, the council has to open for extension and invites sororities to apply to start a chapter

I think that since three of our 6 sororities still aren't filling their quotas during formal recruitment, and since those three include the two newest ones added, it's tough to make a good case for adding more.

I understand the spirit of your comment, but AOPI DID fill their quota, therefore did not conduct COB this past recruitment year. Also, over 30% of the girls going through formal recruitment did not get/accept bids last year.

Everyone who goes through recruitment knows how competitive it gets every year. There are plenty of girls at the end who don't get a bid from any of the six sororities. This is mostly because there are just not enough of them. There are also twice as my frats on the campus. It definitely will not hurt to add a few more chapters.

Any woman invited back to the final round of recruitment automatically receives a bid unless: A) they choose not to sign a MRABA, indicating they no longer wish to belong to a group at this time; and/or B) they perform a major social faux pas against the group(s) inviting them. The number of women allowed to receive bids is not decided until after the final parties have been held, strongly assuring every eligible women is given a bid IF SHE STILL DESIRES TO BELONG AND HAS FOLLOWED ALL PANHELLENIC RULES DURING RECRUITMENT. The following is required of all NPC groups: every woman attending a final recruitment party has been invited strictly because her group wants her as a member of their home. So to answer the above poster: no, the number of women not receiving bids during formal recruitment has nothing to do with too few groups on campus.

@roar lion there's a big difference between not receiving and not accepting a bid. if someone got a bid and chose not to accept it, that's not an issue of there not being enough chapters on campus, that's an issue of a person not liking what chapter they got. and in that case, they didn't follow instructions on the mraba. very few people actually got cut completely from recruitment. the vast majority of people who didn't join a chapter voluntarily left the recruitment process themselves.
