alpha chi had informal????

by: sketchy

One of the sorority members posted that her friend just was initiated, but regular initiation happened ages ago. Seems like they had informal that wasn’t open to the public/publicly known. Tbh this is so horrible if it’s true. Should be giving people a chance at those spots instead of just your inner circle. No wonder people have been hating on alpha chi...this is revolting

initiation is what happens after the new member period
ie. you get the bid in January , then you go through a few weeks of the new member period and then you get initiated and become a real sister instead of a new member.
So a bunch of sororities just had initiation now for the new members who got bids through formal recruitment.

yea u don’t understand how initiation works (I’m guessing ur a gdi who dropped after the “good” sororities dropped you). Initiation is over the course of the next couple of weeks for new members. AXO did do COB bc they just barely missed quota or someone dropped out idk either way they didn’t advertise it bc they don’t care about giving people an equal shot. A closed COB means they can only take a couple girls anyway so why advertise it?

Was this friend ill at the end of last semester, and having to take incomplete grades in some courses? If so, perhaps she was not allowed to initiate with her original new member class and had to wait for her grades to come thru/improve before initiating recently. We can't have all the answers, but with a little life experience we can guess what MAY have occurred.

Axo gave out snap bids because they weren’t able to fill their pledge class ie a bunch of people dropped and/or they didn’t get enough people in the first place. So it’s not exactly informal recruitment bc they didn’t want to advertise that they were giving out snap bids to people they had originally cut because people they didn’t cut were dropping. If they did informal would’ve been a lot more fair but alas, much more public
