What makes a house’s rank go up?
by: PnmI’ve seen some different ranks being posted now so im wondering what makes them change? Is it based on the PC or the events during the year or what. Obviously its opinion too but what makes a house good in peoples eyes?

It has a lot to do with rush like how desired the house is with PNMs. This year I think zeta and pi phi were more desired than kappa and chi o. But they are top houses because of their legacy here and being able to pick and choose girls. This doesn’t mean their better or even more wanted, they just have a “big name” on campus.

There are houses that rise in the ranks based on the rankings by the pnm’s during recruitment. Because pnms did virtual it was probably difficult for them to get a feel for the houses and a vibe of which ones that were super desired. There was a lot of “buzz” about zeta and pi phi when I went through in 2019 as well but I do not think that means they were more desired than kappa or chi o. Kappa and chi o knew who they wanted ( mainly friends from back home ect....) and the rest were cut first night. I am sure girls that had zeta/pi phi left after night one were very excited about those houses. In my opinion adpi has moved up ( new house and cute girls) while KD has dropped. Zero buzz about KD in 2019. Adpi had great girls till the very end. And no I am not an adpi. I am in a top house.

Moms that work this site. Seriously.
I have friends in every house but one here. We don’t care about these rankings! We support each other. We attend each other’s philanthropy fundraisers and percentage days. We have fun together at pep rallies, etc when that was a thing. Big facts.

Honestly it would take years for the ranks to really change that much. And 90% of the ranks are based on who has been here longer. Which then means those are the houses PNMs have heard of making them more “desirable” even though they’re not really any better than anyone else. It’s basically 2 groups.
In no order:
Top: Chi O, Kappa, Zeta, Pi Phi, Tri Delt
Bottom: ADPi, AXO, AOPi, KD, Phi Mu, DG

This is based on everything - return rates, grades, involvement - etc
Several of the houses are new - like 10 years which for a sorority that is not a very long time- it takes a long time for a sorority to establish on a campus

Ranks are not real.
They are an anonymous OPINION on this site.
One persons criteria as to what is a good house is not another's.
Agree with above. Moms work this site like it’s there job.
Freshman (and that’s all who really cares), think they can somehow take high school popularity to college. Most grow up & see how stupid it was to think like that.

On this campus time and time only is what makes a house viewed as top.
I dont agree with this idea & 100% think every house at this campus is STELLAR, so don't flame me. YOUR house is the BEST house for you, no matter what letters hang on the front porch.

Zeta and pi phi are both great houses but chi o and kappa will always get who they want with very few exceptions
