ADPi , KD , Phi Mu

Hi! Here are some thoughts for pnm’s regarding the controversial 6th rank. I am in a top sorority and know girls from all three and feel I can give an unbiased opinion.
ADPI - I really liked them during recruitment last year. Sweet, bubbly girls. I think they thought they would get ranked much lower by pnm’s for not having a house during recruitment but they didn’t. So the post about choosing a sorority based on the physical appearance and location of the house isn’t true. Pnm’s choose because of the girls! I still say they have been over rated on this website based on their actual pledge class. Equal to KD’s pledge class but not as good as the phi mu’s pledge class.
KD - great national reputation and beautiful house ( although yes it’s very far from campus) . I would have chosen them over ADPI because of their national rankings and smart, leadership type girls. They were expected to take girls from Tri Delt with their new house and didn’t which is why they were said to not have a good pledge class. Still would rank them above ADPI.
Phi Mu- loved them during recruitment. I knew they received hate on campus and wasn’t expecting much from them. So shocked by how much I liked them. The entire time they were my second favorite, ranking them above TOP houses. Very pretty, fun girls girls and I would have been happy here. I am NOT a Phi Mu!
So based on my experience during recruitment and having been on campus for a year and know girls in each here is how I would rank.....

So much of this depends on who is in front of you during recruitment. I struggled with convo’s the two times I was at the KD house but my roommate absolutely loved them. I loved Phi Mu but my roommate didn’t like them at all. She ended up an ADPI and I am in a top house. Our experiences were so different and we were surprised by this! I think those three will really battle each other for girls in the fall.

Agree ADPI was over hyped because they didn’t get destroyed by not having a house during recruitment. I would rank them below KD but above Phi Mu. I wouldn’t want to be a chi o or phi mu. They just aren’t well liked on campus. For that reason I think it’s KD, ADPI then Phi Mu.

I like ADPI more than KD during recruitment. But I don’t think many people go into college thinking they can’t wait to be an ADPI. It just doesn’t have that catchy thing going going for it like saying your kappa or zeta or pi phi or a chi o. I am not talking rank either. Being an alpha chi sounds better and looks better on a shirt. Weird reason to not pick them I know!

Yeah don’t pick your sorority based on the name or how it looks on a shirt. Wanting to be in a house for the sake of saying oh I’m a this isn’t a good reason to rush. And adpi is a good house this whole thread is basically only pro kd and phi mu.

Personally, my conversations at kd and phi mu did not feel genuine. Phi mu felt plastic and fake, although the girls i talked to were very sweet. Kd was just bleh, didnt stand out to me at all and again the conversations at kd were awkward. I had adpi on pref because the girls were all naturally sweet and bubbly, and seemed to genuinely want me in their sorority. Although i did not pledge adpi, they would still be my second choice!

I'm a sophomore now and here is how I view these sororities from personal experience, all of them are amazing chapters and I love my friends who are in all of them!
Adpi: I loved talking to adpi during recruitment. They were the first house I had a genuine connection with, they seemed trendy, sweet, and down to earth which I loved. I ended up pledging a different house (I had adpi on pref) but I think I would be happy as an adpi, I love my friends that ended up choosing that sorority.
Phi Mu: I liked Phi Mu during recruitment as well, they didn't necessarily "stand out" compared to other houses for me personally. Still think they did a great job with their pledge class now and I like a handful of girls that I've met throughout freshmen year! I also didn't consider them as much because I knew of their mean girl reputation and wanted to pledge a sorority that I knew wouldn't make me feel like I am in high school.
Kd: I know a lot of people stereotype that Pi Phi and Kd are similar sororities but as a Pi Phi I very much disagree. I do believe that there are some sweet and smart girls in that sorority, but as a whole I didn't enjoy my time talking to their girls during rush. Nothing bad, but also nothing good. Very basic conversations with girls who just went through the motions and didn't seem like they cared to get to know me. I think their PC slacked this year tbh.
