Obviously no one is going to attack you from being from Texas, but most Texas students fill the stereotype of being rich, snotty, and mean. Arkansans especially dislike them due to the fact that Texans make up almost 50% of an ARKANSAS state school. While not all Texans are like this, I’ve yet to encounter many who are snotty about being from Texas. Sorry but it’s just the truth
And personal opinion, the only reason they come here is cause they’re too dumb to get into UT, Baylor or whatever Texas schools there are

I was accepted into UT, A&M and TCU but chose Arkansas! So no, it hasn’t nothing to do with being “too dumb” to get into schools here. Some of us just want a change of scenery!

Wow ok! Most of us had plenty of other choices besides Arkansas. Colorado boulder, Arizona, Ole Miss ect.... Not to mention even if we didn’t get into UT ( one of the hardest schools in the nation) there are other schools that are great if we chose to stay within state. I personally fell in love with Fayetteville AND I wanted to be able to drive home instead of fly and risk being stuck in the airport all day ect..... I will say though, never have I felt any animosity about being from Texas thankfully :)

Texans know you are jealous. Nothing you say will even matter to them. AND Those of us out of state know our academics are very high.

They are not too dumb. Their parents refuse to pay the HUGE tuition rates and fees. Even if their child was courted by all of these schools- and if the OOS students qualify for whatever OOS tuition waiver- then yes- they were heavily targeted by those schools. UArk was chosen. Great school with great town.

Some of the people from Texas at the university can’t let you forget that they are from Texas. A few even feel as though they are better being from Texas. Some people from Texas are absolutely sweethearts, but few live up to the stereotype. If Texas is so great, go to school there.

the thing with Texas kids is they'll throw it in your face most of the time. look at me, I'm from ~Dallas~. and there are simply so many texans (50%) that it gets to be stereotypical simply because there are so many. there's nothing wrong with it, but it shouldn't make up your personality

Yes they do. Everyone wants to make friends. Someone is salty about Texas students. Arkansas students like to call out of state students scholarship people too. Don’t believe people saying the Texas students are snotty.

hi! coming from an outside perspective, i think texas kids r more disliked by everyone else bc that’s all they talk about!
it’s always “in Texas they have this” and “omg this place is so weird compared to Texas” ... like nobody else talks about their state as much as Texas people so that’s prob why everyone is just kinda annoyed!
