can you be in kappa and be poor
by: future pnmis is possible to be in kappa and not be rich? i will be on scholarship/financial aid and am working this summer. i have everything else about them covered - grades, looks, connections - so please no posts on that. just looking for an honest answer of kappa would cut someone for not having a big house or nice car. no posts either about finding the right house. just answer the question. tia!

Yes. Your connections will either pull for you or they wonât. There are more wealthy girls in Kappa ( but plenty of wealthy girls in ALL sororities) because they pull for girls from their hometowns. If they are from a more affluent area then most likely their friends are as well.:)

many of my kappa friends have scholarships to pay for school. Financial aid? Canât specify. There are so many wealthy girls in kappa but plenty that are ânormalâ and using scholarship to pay for school. Youâll find that in every house too. Itâs just a stereotype that is definitely not true of everyone.

Houses canât see if youâre on financial aid (as far as I know) & not even scholarships unless itâs on your resume or something somewhere! They do cut for grades, and scholarships show that youâre dedicated to school. If you get cut by kappa (and many houses) itâs a combo of connections, grades, your involvement in HS and so much more. NOT if youâre on scholarship or financial aid. Thatâs ridiculous.

This question is based on a stereotype that goes on around here that kappas only take rich girls and is a house 100% full of them. Are there rich girls in kappa? Yes!! Are there girls on scholarship in kappa?? Yep. Does the same go for chio, pi phi, tridelt, KD, phi Mu, etc??? Yes!!! There are rich girls in EVERY house & sororities tend to be an extra expense for every girl, so it would make sense that any girl in a sorority ~probably~ has extra money to spend. Kappa also values scholarship so if youâre on any sort of scholarship, they would value that! And, thereâs no way for any house to see if youâre on financial aid or other forms of scholarships. PNMs, donât let any of that worry you! Go with your heart during rush!

They have lots of girls with scholarships. Grades are their big thing so it makes sense they would have won all types of scholarships. Maybe you meant financial aid? Thereâs a big difference.
