unless you’re a 10/10 looks wise, or have HEAVY connections you’ll probably be dropped by almost all of them first round

I agree with this. I don’t know you or your story but most sororities require active members to have a 3.0 & if you aren’t at that number before joining its hard for them to want give you a bid. (Girls in chapters get kicked out for not making grades)

Rushing as a freshman it would effect you but you could still get int top houses
As a sophomore it will probably effect you more

I would say go tomorrow and check it out, see what houses called you back and give it a chance. if houses called you back that means they really liked you regardless of your gpa

Ridiculous that sororities cut for a 2.8-2.9. They are social sororities. Its a sense of arrogance. They don usuallyt take time to get to know the person. Focus on the person and what activities they do- esp those that do community serviceI. Well rounded girls should be the priority. Not looks, not gpa, etc. i know several girls who got in sororities with 2.9 and ended ip graduating with 3.5, so people can turn around.

Dude chill. In some colleges at ASU anything under a 3.0 is academic probation. Also for a lot of sororities anything under a 3.0 could lead to disciplinary actions. (I got a 2.8 once and was given a warning that if I wasn’t over a 3.0 the next semester I would be kicked out, I was also not allowed to go to any sorority social events when I had a 2.8)

girl, please go to all the houses! your best bet is to go until round 4 (preference) and see how you feel after. if you really, really feel like you don't connect with the houses on your list, then drop! i literally went through as a junior and only had 2 houses the last 2 rounds, and i ended up getting my 'last choice.' it ended up being the best thing that happened to me. the process works if you give it a chance! if you feel that your grades really were a factor though, then try again next year, or in the spring!
