I went through rush this year and they often tel you to "trust the process" and to give every house an open mind and I really did try!!! But getting dropped from houses I liked and being told to go through to bid day with houses I felt no connection with seemed almost unfair?? can anyone tell me if im in the wrong for not wanting to go through to bid day with a house I didnt feel connected to in anyway?

you're not in the wrong, but I wouldn't blame the process. it works in weird ways in the sense that we learn certain things about ourselves that we never would have without recruitment. there's nothing wrong with dropping at the last minute, it's your life, and you shouldn't just do something because people are shoving it in your face. the world isn't fair though, another important lesson during recruitment, so try not to focus on what's unfair and what isn't. rejection is a part of life, just try to learn from this experience!

OMG - After reading the "top house" girls response to this post I am delighted to say that I would never want to be part of any organization that had someone with so little class and such a mean disposition . You just validated what many of us thought - while there may be some genuine girls in the Greek system they have allowed two faced con artist like you into their houses. You couldn't pay me enough to rush after reading this. Oh and before you start throwing more insults lady (use the term loosely) I can almost guarantee that I am better looking and a better catch than you any day. You see girls like me don't need validation like you. To the poster above . Plenty of us smart pretty total packages out there not trying to get under a bunch of frat boys every weekend:-) Your experience was not alone - heard it from many xo

I was in Hassy and heard about this post- all I can say is thank you! Thank you to the poster for saying what so many of us also experienced . Its no reflection on you. Part of this is unfortunately a numbers game and it works for about 60% of the PNMs if you do the math. That's also why 200 girls dropped out before preference and 65 didn't get a bid at all on bid night. Numbers not out on how many are refusing bids. Thank you also to the awful mean girl from the top house who made me glad I dropped. Sorry "sweetheart" we will worry about you - you are gonna need help.

By: Glad I dropped too!

WOW so I am the villain after calling out a bully who kept trying to make this poster feel like she was less and demeaning and degrading her. I gave it right back ,only I was articulate and better at it . So now I'm the one with ugliness? Makes no sense I am a kind uplifting person who defends others. I would have replied to the poster that she was not alone and should give it a try again until she finds the right fit. But the bully changed all that- Don't try to flip this on me Make the girl in the top house own it- she's your sister not mine
