If you're speaking about sororities -

Generally speaking, the most involved semester is going to be the New Member process. You will have so many events to attend - from big little to retreat to initiation workshops. This process is meant to bond girls together. As classes over the years get more difficult, and jobs/interships come up, most girls will have to slowly begin to divide their time in the sorority versus after-college. But, all said, sororities are here to help you become a diverse woman who can balance personal, social, and work life; and they are preparing you to become the leaders of tomorrow. So, while you may not be attending as many events (formals, date parties) senior year as you did your first year, you will probably be spending that time with girls in your chapter that you, by then, have known for four years.
