should i ask for recommendations on aphi website?

This goes for any top tier house- if they want you, they want you. If they don't, rec's won't help. Image, attitude, charisma, and maybe actually knowing some of the girls is much more important, it's not like in the deep south where all that matters is alumni connections

You should ask friends, parents friends or anyone you know to secure a rec. a rec is an introduction to the chapter and can put you on the chapters radar. Most groups will give you a courtesy invite into round 2 with a rec but it is no garentee for a bid. A rec from someone you don’t know and who doesn’t know you is not ideal.
