please help me (veteran/ future student)
by: USA VETERAN
I'm 25 and wondering how frats view older people rushing. Served in the ARMY to honor my dad instead of going to college right away or I would have for sure been at ASU with my fellow HS seniors rushing top frats. I know most might ask why at this age? To be honest, I endured a lot through the war and the thing that kept me sane was surviving to make it back to ASU.
I just feel this is a second shot to really live out the years of my life I intended to while I was fighting over seas, I now have a chance to LIVE again. I want to get into a top frat, and have total confidence that I can impress and connect with anyone. But would they even be open to giving me a bid at this age? It's not all about parties, you learn brotherhood in the ARMY. Asking because my friends have since graduated and said it's hard for people who transfer/ are older to make friends or have a social circle at ASU, I don't want that! I'll check back and interact so drop a line, thanks!

Just try it, what do you have to lose? Let us know. You honestly may have a better time at your age just asking around where the most social place to live is.
No frat houses here, so a lot of them just stay at various places. If you live at a social place like District, Hub(kinda whack now tho), West 6, Cottages, Regents(aka Block 1949), you'll probably be living just as wild of a life because some of those places party every day/night, so that could be you too.
I know you want the experience but at ASU sometimes where you live is more important than what letters you wear lol. Definitely go check out some apartments and read some reviews. If you wanna party and be somewhere where you can meet people and have fun, the more people complaining on yelp about noise and parties, the better for you
