sorority gpa
by: GpaHi I just got into asu and I'm planning to rush next fall! I'm so excited and I feel like I have everything you need to be in a sorority but my gpa is a 2.9 currently. I know I'll do better in college but will I be able to get into a decent sorority with that gpa?

The odds are that you will have a much more difficult time and many sororities will drop you. It is strongly suggested when you sign up to have a 3.0 before you rush. Over 1400 girls went through the process last year and sorority’s have a hard time going through them all, the first cut is usually grade risks. Plenty of girls are pretty and kind and have all these things going for them AND have good grades. I would wait a year and focus on improving your gpa and also realizing that all sororities at Asu are “decent” and have wonderful things to offer their members.

Stupid advice. It is part of the registration packet to submit your high school transcripts so you cannot lie. Every girl rushing has been reviewed completely - grades, activities, social media etc prior to them even walking thru the door. If you are a grade risk most top houses will not ask you back the second round.

Not true at all. I know a lot of "bottom" houses who just drop everyone who is under a 3.0 especially out of high school.

I won’t lie, you really really basically have to have at LEAST 3.0 (tbh 3.3 and above is preffered.) I know so many really “hot” girls with good personalities and good style who had less than a 3.0 and got cut by all the top houses and were left with 4 or 3 houses. I would wait until fall of sophomore year when you establish a college gpa, cause going through recruitment twice might hurt you too.

When they say 3 or 4 that isn't really true. You may only get called back to 1 after the first round with such a low gpa.
Also it definitely doesn't hurt you if you rush more than once. There is no way they can tell if you rush twice unless you specifically tell the girl you are talking to.
