spring rush

by:

Hey y'all I'm a sophomore thinking of transferring for spring semester and wondering if any sororities would be doing informal that take sophomores, since I'm guessing it would be too late for me to rush in the fall. I could care less about tiers or anything like that, just want to find my people

There are plenty of sororities that typically do COB in the spring and are more than willing to take sophomores.

Yes some sororities will be doing spring rush. A lot of them wont due to having a full pledge class but some who didn't meet quota will. Adpi and agd will prob take juniors.

Meeting quota has nothing to do with spring rush, being under total does.

its kind of up in the air for the others, but I suggest looking into adpi and agd. adpi really got a great pledge class this year and I can see them moving 'up' in a couple of semesters. agd is a smaller chapter, but they're a very unique sorority and there's many types of girls. doesn't really fit the 'sorority' mold if that makes sense. if you don't care about tiers, (which you shouldnt anyway), I suggest looking into those two for sure. <3

nothing is set in stone, but I think each have taken spring classes in recent years. Definitely look out for announcements from panhellenic in January, or refer to their social media accounts as it gets closer.

No one knows yet. When I rushed spring the only houses doing rush were Alpha Chi, Kappa, DZ, & Sig Kap. Literally just ask every house this spring

How selective is the greek system here and are recs important? And is spring rush usually pretty easy? I'm from the south where connections matter a lot more than who you actually are and I'm thinking about waiting until next spring to rush so I can get used to being in college before I jump into a sorority

It is selective and competitive and I definitely suggest having recs especially for spring and cob. Good luck <3

Spring rush is much less selective than formal recruitment, and you also have a better opportunity to show the houses who you really are. Recs don't matter that much. They will help but not having them won't hurt you. Most greek girls at ASU are the first in their family to go greek.

Spring rush is definitely more competitive, as the pledge classes are much smaller. For example my house had between 100-150 girls go through spring rush and took less than 15 girls

Do a lot of sophomores rush in the fall, and do houses prefer freshman or is there an upperclass quota?

There is no upperclass quota, but a lot of the houses won't care that you're a sophomore. I don't think there starts to be a significant age problem until you're a junior/senior
