rushing as jr/sr

by: Helpagirlout

Is it pointless to rush a soriority as a junior/senior? Are houses more selective? Help a girl out cause I rushed as a sophomore and hate the one I got but don't want to miss out on experiencing Greek life

Stay with the one who bid you (if you haven't yet dropped). Should you have already declined to continue the process with your bid chapter, reassess your reasons for joining and decide for your self whether to utilize your precious time and money attending formal recruitment again next year.

All sororities look for strong women who can make positive contributions to their organizations.

Please do not become just another special snowflake student who has decided to look beyond the group who has seen the beauty that she is and thereby wants her to contribute time and talents within their lifelong sisterhood.

Thank you so much for responding! I fell in love with other houses and the house I got was definitely a "safety one" I just really feel like the girls don't take the effort to reach out at all which is something I really want in a soriority

I agree with what was said above. Stick it out for a bit longer (even until just before initiation.) I didn't start loving my house until this past week. It takes longer for some people than others. If you have dropped however, know rushing as a junior is very, very difficult. You have to be very open minded and your options will be limited to honestly 4-5 houses (realistically.)

Thanks for getting back! It's so frustrating because I completely understand why it would be hard to rush as a junior but every time I'm with my soriority I just don't seem to click with the girls at all...

Honestly, rushing as a sophomore is still decently difficult, if youre not happy with what your options were and refer to yours as "safety" I really dont know if you'll be happy going through with fewer choices as a junior... my best advice is if you're really not happy, drop before initiation, maybe meet with AOII, or spring rush

Spring rush and AOPi not an option because OP signed a bid card. Doing that makes you ineligible for a calendar year.

Good advice to stick with it. If you are not feeling it don't initiate but know your chances will not improve going through as a Junior. Just my opinion.
