question about rush (sorority)

by: Philo girl

I have a very, very personal connection to a philanthropy of a specific chapter. Would it be ok if I talked about it in first rounds so the chapter knows how much it means to me? Or would it be frowned upon since philo isn't until round 2?

I say do it. The girls already know all about your name major and GPA. But make sure you make a CONNECTION with the house. I am passionate about a lot of houses philanthropy not just mine, but my house fit me best!

I wouldn't start the conversation with that but if you can fit it in to the conversation on day one go for it!

Just let conversation come naturally. You dont want them to confuse passion with being socially awkward

YES!! Don't make it sound like you're only interested in their philanthropy because there is a lot more about joining a sorority than just that, but I would definitely bring it up if you can! There are only a few minutes for the first round so it might be hard to fit it in, but talking about something you really care about is always going to spark more interest than telling them your major and what dorm you're living in. And it'll help them remember you better, which is always really good on the first day. It's also so refreshing to see girls who are so passionate about philanthropy
