usually, the better the frat, the bigger the PC (since they have a higher % accept).

Its the opposite. Good crafts take a medium sized pledge class because they're alot more selective. 18-25

^^^It is still the largest school in the country. It is still going to be competitive and a lot of people will be rushing. It may not be "big" at ASU but it is still a very large group of people. We have 40+ frats and 20+ sororitys, you do the math.

Realistically, any frat that wants to be relevant wants to have at least 80 members, probably closer to 100-120. Basic math says for to maintain a membership this large, you need big PCs. ASU has well over 1200 kids rushing in the fall. Any good house should have no issue finding 25-45 cool dudes. I would say that's probably the common range for a good house, 25-45. Spring is on average half the size I'd say. You can argue this all you want, but you can't be a good frat with 20 members. You need size for parties, money, sorority relations, presence, etc.

All the good frats take anyone they'd want in the fraternity. It could be 5 It could be50. In the fall it's usually around 15-25. I know that DKE is rumored to come back on campus in the spring semester so if you wanna try and squeeze into a top tier fraternity that's your best bet. More people look at on campus then off so this would be the last semester you'd have any sort of an upper hand rushing dke. Once they're back on campus they' are gonna be extremely picky.

Is there any truth to that rumor? I plan to rush DKE regardless, but I'd still like to know.

Also, is off-campus really less selective than on-campus? I thought DKE was already extremely selective

good frats don't take 15 guys in the fall. Pledges always drop too, show me a good frat that starts pledgeship in the fall with 15 kids. Maybe 1 time on an off semester if they're on probation, but not if they can help it. Sororities all have 180+ girls and like 70+ new members. You can't realistically have a good social when your numbers are so much smaller. Obviously frats are smaller, but half the size, not 1/5

Nope DKE is not coming back in the spring. Sig Chi is the only off-campus fraternity that has a chance of coming back soon. But they would still have to get approved by FSL which is unlikely for both.

Most likely Delta Sig, Pike, Sig Tau, and Sig Pi will be getting big classes because the my have all been improving the last year. Assume that each house will shoot for around 40+ pledges, but at least 30 to get through pledging. Sig Ep might get a big class if they're trying to get back to top, and DKE might try to get a big class especially if they're trying to get on campus and this might be the last year to dirty rush without penalties.

DTD, Alpha Sig, TKE, and Delta Chi might shoot for big classes because they need more members, but they've been struggling the last 2-4 years.

If I'm right, dtd, tke, alpha sig, and dchi have less than 100 members. They've all been going downhill for the last few years and a big/decent pledge class could help them a lot. Dchi took a massive pledge class last year of like 50 guys but it didn't help at all. They only had that many pledges cause they dropped to like 60 active brothers. Alpha sig has been terrible since they lost their plex. Tke has struggled as the worst off campus house, and dtd was never that great.

If I had to guess based on the last 2 years -

Giant PC's 40+: Delta Sig, Pike, Sig Tau, Sig Pi.They are getting large PC's because they have improved the most and want to make a big move.

Bigger PC's 30-40: Kappa Sig, Pi Kapp, Lambda, Fiji - They can't take giant PC's because they already have big chapters/want to be more selective.

Average PC's 25-30: DKE, Delta Chi, KA, Sig Ep. They have average size because they are struggling or do not like having a large chapter. DKE or Sig Ep might have a larger PC, just depends.

Low PC's 25 or below: Alpha Sig, Sig Chi, TKE, DTD - These houses have low PC's because they are struggling for membership. If they get 25+ I assume there will be some weird kids. Sig Chi is alright, but not a house that many want to join.

Wild Card: New chapters like AEPI/Sigma Nu and terrible chapters like Chi Phi/ZBT
