old town bars?

i'm coming out later in july to visit some family in scottsdale, and my cousins suggested going out in "old town". What is the bar scene like there? Older or younger crowd? My sister is coming as well and is not 21 but has a fake and is wondering if she'd be able to get into bars there.

Old town generally attracts older people but there are young.

Depends. Some places have ID scanners that will snuff her out. You won't really know until they pull it out when you walk up and hand them your ID

Don't even bother. They will sniff out fakes. Arizona is really strict on being 21 or older in bars or clubs.

when people say "older" they mean older than mill ave in Tempe. Mill is mostly 21-23 year olds and Old Town is like 24-30 year olds. Definitely not "old." Downtown PHX would probably have the "old" (30s/40s) bar scene.

Oh and they are tough on IDs on both mill and old town. Probably easier if you're a girl but it better be a REALLY good ID that isn't from an obvious fake ID state, and scan, and overall be perfect. Otherwise, go to some dive bars not in the main bar areas. Bars not in Mill or Old Town will be less strict.
